Entity Analysis Configuration

View and configure analysis settings for each entity. Enable or disable fields per Analysis type, and configure custom analysis settings. These settings are used when running a Monitor Job for recording in the Monitor Library.

For each entity, you can set the fields you want to analyze, for each type of analysis you want to run (for example, Duplicate Value Rate, Value Distribution, Field Length Utilization). A number of Analysis Types have further parameters that you can set per field, such as thresholds or a date input type. Each entity that you add comes with default settings that you can then adjust to your needs.

The Entity Analysis Configuration that you set here is used when running Monitor Jobs for data analysis to record in the Monitor Library. Ad Hoc jobs are configured when you are about to start such a job, and can have a different configuration.

Adding an Entity

  1. In the Plauti for Dynamics 365 app, at left in the Plauti Monitor section, go to Monitor Setup.
  2. In the Configured Entities section, check if the entity is already listed.
  3. If not, click +Add Entity at the top of the page.
  4. In the pop-up that appears, find the entity you want to add and click Add.

The entity has been added to the list of entities.

  • To remove an entity from the list, click Configure at its right. There you'll find the Delete button.

Configuring an Entity

  1. In the Plauti for Dynamics 365 app, at left in the Plauti Monitor section, go to Monitor Setup.
  2. In the Configured Entities section, click Configure at the entity you want to configure for analysis.

The entity's Configuration page opens. At top right you'll find the following buttons:

Refresh Metadata Refresh the metadata after you added or removed a field on the entity, or updated field metadata.
Delete Remove the entity from the Plauti Monitor Entity Configuration. It will be removed from the Monitor Library as well.

Below, you can configure the Analysis Types.

Configuring Analysis Types

On the Analysis Types tab, all Analysis Types available to the entity are listed.

To configure an Analysis Type:

  1. In the Analysis Types overview, click Configure at the Analysis type you want to configure.
The analysis type configuration modal opens.
  2. At the top, read the description to see what the Analysis Type does exactly.
  3. Below, review the default settings and adjust if needed. These are applied to any field you enable, but you can still override it with a custom configuration for that field.
  4. To analyze a specific field with this Analysis Type, toggle it to Enabled. Once enabled, the field starts out using the Analysis Type's default settings.
  5. To use different settings for that field, click to fold open its configuration. Adjust if needed to create a custom, field-level override. Read more below.
  6. Click Save to save your changes.

Adjusting Configurations

Each Analysis Type comes with default settings based on best practices. Depending on the Analysis Type, you can adjust parameters such as thresholds or date ranges; edit the Default Settings to apply to all fields, or edit per field.

  • For Case Sensitive: toggle to Active to distinguish between upper and lower case characters. Used for example in Uniqueness Detection and Duplicate Value Rate.
  • For Thresholds: set a lower and upper threshold. Values are shown as green, amber, or red depending on where they fall. Use the Invert button to flip the interpretation for fields where a low or empty result is the healthy outcome, such as bounce reason or error message fields.
  • For Date Input Type: choose between a fixed date or a relative date, such as the last 5 years, or today.
  • A Threshold Date is used to analyze all values before or after that date or time frame. For example, set a date limit such as 'Older than X years', and enter the number for X.
  • For Minimum Occurrences, enter a minimum number. If a certain value occurs less often than the set number, it will not be displayed in the results. Used for example in Value Distribution.

When you have finished configuring an Analysis Type, click Save. The new field configuration is applied; this might take a short while.
