It is recommended to first finish configuring Plauti Restore, as described in Configuring Plauti Restore, before granting your users access to the app.
Plauti Restore differentiates between two access levels, each handled by a permission set:
-
Plauti Restore User gives access to the Restore Changes tab and record component, to restore changes made.
Furthermore, this permission set is needed if a user can merge records, so that those merges can be tracked for restoring. Without this permission set, users cannot merge records if Track Merge is enabled for that Object.
For users who only insert, update, or delete records, and who do not need to restore changes, this permission set is not needed. Their changes are tracked regardless.
-
Plauti Restore Admin gives access to the Restore Setup, to configure Plauti Restore. It gives access to the Restore Changes tab and record component as well.
- Furthermore, in order to be able to deploy setting changes, you need to have the ‘Modify Metadata Through Metadata API Functions’ system permission.
It is recommended to grant access to Plauti Restore via one of these permission sets. If instead you choose to give access via a custom profile, remember to check upon each update whether there are any new classes or other items that need to be given access to. These will be listed in the Release Notes.
The Plauti Restore permission sets are updated with new classes etc. automatically.
