The Monitor Library

In the Monitor Library, users can review all metadata and analysis data per entity and per field.

The Monitor Library is the starting point for analyzing and reviewing your data. It gives you a browseable, persistent record of what lives in your Dynamics 365 data: every entity added to the library, its fields, their field types, and a short description, in one place instead of hunting through Solution Explorer or the Power Platform admin center.

  • Analysis results of Monitor Jobs for use in the Library are gathered and displayed here. Once a configured job has analyzed a field, that field's health status lives here permanently, not just on the job's own results page.
  • Ad Hoc Monitor Jobs are standalone analysis jobs, and their results are not recorded here in the Monitor Library.
  • Detailed analysis results of a single job (of either type) can be viewed via the Monitor Job Results.

Open an entity and then one of its fields to see the Analysis Results and Field Metadata.

Accessing the Monitor Library

  1. Open the Plauti for Dynamics 365 app.
  2. At left, in the Plauti Monitor section, go to Monitor Library.

Browsing the Library is open to anyone with Plauti Monitor access, whether they have the Plauti Admin or Plauti User role. Adding or removing entities from the Library is an admin-only action, and happens in Monitor Setup, not in the Library itself.

Home

The Monitor Library opens at its Home page, showing a number of widgets.

  • Library Assets: The number of Entities that are available for data analysis by Plauti Monitor.
  • Latest Job: information about the last run configured Library Job. Click Open to see its results.
  • Field Types: a donut chart showing the distribution of field types over the available fields.
  • Library Index: every entity that has been added to the library. Click Open to see an entity's analysis details.

Account, Contact, and Lead are included in the library out of the box.

Entity View

Opening an entity from the Library Index shows:

  • Its own Field Types donut chart
  • A Latest Job card, with information about the last run configured Library Job for this entity.
Admins can start a job here with Start Job, to analyze the entity and save the results in the Library.
If the Start Job button is greyed out even though you have the Plauti Admin role, configure the entity first.
  • Its Metadata, such as description, display name, logical name, schema name, primary column, type, and field count
  • Its Fields, with their Display Name, Logical name, Schema Name, and Data Type (whether the field is a choice field, unique identifier, single or multiple lines of text, etc). Click Open to see the field's analysis details.

At top right, click Refresh Entity after making changes to the entity elsewhere, such as updating field metadata or adding or deleting a field.

Field View

Opening an entity field shows two tabs:

Metadata

This displays a summary of the field's analysis results at the top, followed by its metadata.

Analysis Results

Here you find the highlights of the analysis results for each analysis type available for this field, as well as the date an analysis was run for this analysis type. Hover over the doughnut chart sections to view the numbers.

If an Analysis Type in the Analysis Results displays ‘Results not found for this Analysis Type’, this means no configured Library Job has run yet that included this Analysis Type. Have a Plauti Monitor Administrator configure the Analysis Type for the entity, and then run a configured Library Job via the Monitor Setup or the entity's Monitor Library page, to analyze the entity with that Analysis Type.

To view the results of the different Analyses in more detail, go to Monitor Jobs in the left hand menu. On a recent Job, click View Results to review its full results.

As mentioned earlier, only results from configured Library jobs reach this tab and persist here, updated the next time that such a job runs. Ad Hoc job results stay on their own job's results page and aren't included here.
