Review a Field in the Monitor Library

Last updated

View a Field's metadata, analysis results, and quality score trends in the Monitor Library.

To review a field’s metadata, analysis results, and quality trends in the Monitor Library, open the field in one of two ways: in the Fields section on the Metadata tab of an Object page, click Open next to the field; or in the Assets section in the left-hand menu, expand the Object and click the field.

The Field page shows the field’s Data Quality Score at the top right, and how it compares to the previous score. The Metadata tab shows a summary of the field’s analysis results and its metadata. The Quality Trends tab shows how the field’s quality score and analysis results develop over time.

To review multiple fields together across objects, open or create a Field Filter at left. Read more in View Analysis Results - Field Filter.

Metadata subtab

Analysis Summary section

On a field's Metadata tab, the Analysis Summary shows the highlights of the latest result of each Analysis Type for this Field, and the date and time the analysis last ran.
Monitor Admins can click Start Job at top right to start a Configured job here.

If an Analysis Type has not been analyzed for this field yet, it is listed in the collapsed ‘Not Configured for this Field’ section. Expand the section to see which Analysis Types it concerns. Have a Plauti Monitor Administrator configure the Analysis Type for the Object, and then run a Configured Job via the Monitor Setup or Monitor Library page to analyze the Object with that Analysis Type included.

To view the results of the different Analyses in more detail, go to tab Monitor Job at top. On a recent Job, click View Results to review its full results.

Metadata section

A field's Metadata section displays the Salesforce metadata of this field, such as its parent Object, its data type, whether it's a required field or not, etc.

When a field does not have a Description entered in its metadata, this is indicated with a red warning icon. A field description helps you and your colleagues understand what a field is used for. Furthermore, in the future, you'll be able to run an analysis on a Field's description, to review whether the description matches with the actual content of the field. Therefore it's useful to fill in a field description for your most important fields, if not all.

At the right of the Metadata section, Monitor Admin users can click Go to Object Manager Go to Object Manager button to fill the field's Description and make other field updates in Salesforce Setup right away. After updating the Description, or any other field metadata, make sure to return to Plauti Monitor and click Refresh Metadata Refresh Metadata button here in the Library, or in Monitor Setup > Object Configuration.

The Quality Trends tab shows how the field’s data quality develops over time.

At the top, select the period to display with the buttons All time, This Year, This Month, This Week, or Custom for a custom date range. The exact dates of the selected period are shown at left; they apply to both the Data Quality Score graph and the Analyses trend graphs.

Data Quality Score section

The Data Quality Score graph shows the field’s score trend over the selected period, and how many analyses are included in it. A red dashed vertical line marks where the scoring weights changed. The scores on either side of the line are not directly comparable.

Analyses section

Below the graph, the Analyses section lists the Analysis Types that are configured for this field. Each analysis shows its latest result. Click an analysis to expand it and see how its result developed over the selected period, and the change since the last run. Use the Expand All Expand All icon and Collapse All Collapse All icon buttons at the right of the Analyses heading to expand or collapse all analyses at once.
