Business Controller (Hybrid)
Picture this: starting your day with a smile, surrounded by a curious, inclusive, and motivated team that knows how to balance hard work with plenty of fun. Collaboration is in our DNA — from sharing ideas to grabbing a coffee or jumping into a quick game-room break together.
At Plauti, we focus on something every organization needs but often overlooks: clean, reliable, and truly actionable data. In a world where AI is accelerating faster than ever, clean data has become absolutely essential — without it, even the smartest AI can’t be trusted.
Since our start in 2011, Plauti has grown from a simple duplicate-check tool into the #1 Data App on the Salesforce AppExchange, trusted by more than 2,000 customers worldwide, including global brands like Nike, Disney, Sony, and Harvard University.
Today, Plauti operates across continents, with teams based in the Netherlands, Lisbon, and the U.S. East Coast. We’re strengthening our international footprint and expanding our capabilities beyond Salesforce into the Microsoft ecosystem — marking an exciting new phase of global scale, innovation, and impact.
As our Business Controller, you will help build and strengthen the financial engine behind this international growth. You’ll work closely with the COO and CEO and partner with teams across countries and functions.
Please note that for this role, we are only able to consider candidates who are already authorized to work in the Netherlands (e.g. EU citizenship or a valid, unrestricted work permit).
We kindly ask recruitment agencies and third parties not to reach out regarding this role.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in Business Controlling, FP&A, or financial analysis — ideally in a tech or SaaS environment.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Experience with SaaS KPIs (ARR, churn, revenue recognition, unit economics) is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.
- A proactive, structured, and curious mindset.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with teams across multiple countries.
- Comfort in a dynamic, evolving environment where you can make a real impact.
You will
- Own and drive our financial planning cycles end-to-end, including forecasting, budgeting, and scenario modeling — with a strong focus on monthly reporting and continuous insights rather than traditional quarterly reviews.
- Act as the sole owner of finance operations, taking full responsibility for setting up, improving, and maintaining scalable financial processes in a fast-growing SaaS environment.
- Build and deliver sharp financial insights and dashboards (e.g. in Power BI), translating business performance across regions (NL, Lisbon, US) into clear, actionable decision-making.
- Partner closely with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Support — while also being confident to challenge and push back, including towards senior leadership (CEO/COO), when needed.
- Create visibility into performance across our different markets and support data-driven decision-making as we continue to scale internationally.
- Take a hands-on approach in setting up and optimizing financial tooling (such as Exact, Power BI, and related systems), ensuring everything is structured, reliable, and future-proof.
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning together with leadership, bringing both analytical depth and a pragmatic mindset.
- Demonstrate strong ownership, autonomy, and curiosity — essential in a role where you are building and running this function largely independently.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- A culture of trust, ownership, and open communication — no micromanagement, just real accountability and the space to truly own your domain.
- A high-impact, stand-alone role where you get the opportunity to build, shape, and improve the financial foundation of an international SaaS scale-up.
- Hybrid setup: we’d love to see you in our Arnhem office a few times a week, with flexibility to balance work and life.
- A global, diverse team across the Netherlands, Lisbon, and the U.S. East Coast — collaborative, driven, and genuinely fun to work with
- The chance to work closely with leadership and have a direct influence on key business decisions.
- Plenty of room for growth — whether that’s stepping into a more senior position over time or expanding the function as the company scales.
- Competitive compensation aligned with a strong medior / early senior Business Controller profile in the Netherlands.
