Build sound scenarios with the help of Plauti's AI Scenario Builder assistant. Discuss what the best settings would be for a new scenario, or ask for advice on existing ones.
Scenarios are the cornerstone of Plauti Deduplicate. With a Scenario you determine which fields and which logic Plauti Deduplicate should use when comparing records to see if they are duplicates. In a scenario you also define from which level of similarity upwards two records should be considered duplicates. However, because the setup of a scenario depends heavily on your Org's specifics, as well as on your own definition of when exactly two records should be seen as duplicates of each other, creating good scenarios can be tricky.
The AI Scenario Builder will assist you in setting up scenarios that suit your needs. Based on the object fields you are using, this AI Assistant will ask targeted questions to understand how you want to compare records. It generates a scenario proposal that you can refine through follow‑up questions. Once you’re satisfied, save and deploy the new scenario.

So how does it work exactly?
The AI Scenario Builder is an AI-driven conversational assistant. When you start a conversation, the tool automatically loads the relevant field metadata for the selected Object (so no field content, only information about which fields are in use), and includes it in its context window. Using this information, the AI assistant then asks targeted questions to understand how you want to compare records.
Based on the conversation, it dynamically generates a scenario proposal. You can converse with the AI assistant to refine or adjust the scenario through follow‑up questions. Once you're happy with the result, you can save the new scenario in the Object Settings.
Advanced settings like Do Not Index and Index Grouping are not included yet, but these are not strictly necessary to get started with finding duplicates. It is recommended however to have a look at the Frequent Words and Synonym Matching before you start, and decide where in the different deduplication processes you want to use the created scenario.
Enabling the AI Scenario Builder
Before you can start using the AI Assistant to create scenarios, you first need to sign a Data Processing Agreement (DPA). Read more in Enabling AI Recommendation Features.
If you have already enabled the DPA, for this feature or other AI Recommendation features in Plauti Deduplicate, the AI Scenario Builder is ready for you to use in Deduplicate Setup.
Creating a Scenario with the AI Scenario Builder
Creating a scenario with the help of the AI Assistant is one of the options you'll be presented with when creating a new scenario.
- In Plauti Deduplicate, go to Deduplicate Setup > Object Configuration.
- At the Object you want to create a scenario for, click Configure.
- At tab ‘Scenarios’, click Add New Scenario
. - At ‘AI Scenario Creation’, click Continue
.
The AI Scenario Builder conversation window opens. - Click on one of the question suggestions, such as “Can you help me create a scenario?”.
Or type your own question in the message box and click Send. - Answer the AI Assistant's questions to give it a clear idea of what you want. If you're not exactly sure what it is you want, you can ask it questions for advice.
- Once everything is clear, the assistant will suggest scenario settings that you can confirm.
- After confirmation, the scenario is displayed. Click Save Scenario
to save it.
The scenario has been added to your list of scenarios. Before you start using it, click Edit and finalize it with the following:
- At ‘Apply to’ add more methods if needed, such as ‘Deduplicate Job’ to use this scenario in a Deduplicate Job.
Read more in Scenarios. - Decide if you want to add Synonym Matching and Frequent Words. Adding these will improve the accuracy of a duplicate score, by taking synonyms into account, while ignoring frequently appearing words.
Your scenario is now ready to use. You can always come back here and tweak it if needed.
Improving your existing Scenarios
When asking the AI Scenario Builder assistant for advice about existing scenarios, it will want to know that scenario's settings. You can provide these either by pasting the scenario's JSON, or simply by typing out the scenario's current settings.
You can obtain a scenario JSON by exporting your configuration: in Deduplicate Setup, at left, go to ‘Export / Import Configuration’.
Or find the scenario settings via Object Configuration, by opening the Object and clicking Edit at the scenario. Note down its fields and settings, such as fields used, weightings, threshold, and score method, and paste them in the assistant's conversation box.
Then add the issues you’re currently seeing when using this scenario, such as too many false positives, missing duplicates, performance concerns, et cetera.
You can manually update your existing scenario with the AI Assistant's suggestions, or have it create and save a new scenario based on your conversation.
