Create an Ad Hoc Monitor Job

Run an Ad Hoc job for a standalone data analysis that will not be recorded in the Monitor Library.

Create and run Monitor Jobs to analyze your data per entity. Run an Ad Hoc job for a standalone analysis that will not be recorded in the Monitor Library. For example, to only run one or two Analysis Types on a few fields, or to use Analysis Types or fields that you have disabled in the Entity Analysis Configuration for Monitor Library jobs. Load and adjust the configuration as set in the Entity Analysis Configuration, or set your own analysis job settings.

To run a data analysis job for recording in the Monitor Library, run a [configured job] instead.

To run any Monitor Job, you need to have the Plauti Admin role. Furthermore, all job calculations respect Dynamics 365 security roles.

Running an Ad Hoc job

To create a Monitor Job for one-time use, that will not affect the overall data analysis in the Monitor Library:

  1. At left, in the Plauti Monitor section, go to Monitor Jobs.

  2. At top left, click +Add New Job.

You'll see an information banner stating that jobs started here will not store results in the Monitor Library.

  3. Enter a descriptive Monitor Analysis Job Name.

  4. Select the Entity to analyze.

  5. Then, either

    • click +Add Analysis to create a fully custom job, for example to analyze only one or two fields with a few Analysis Types.

      1. Select the Analysis Type.
      2. If applicable, set parameters for the selected Analysis Type. See the "Analysis Type Parameters" section below.
      3. Select one or more fields to analyze.
      4. Click Save.
      5. Add another Analysis Type (optional) by clicking +Add Analysis again.

      Or

    • click Load Library Analyses to load the analysis configuration as set in the Entity Configuration in Monitor Setup.

  6. The selected Analysis Types and fields are displayed in the Analysis Types overview.

You can add more Analyses (with "+ Add Analysis" above), edit the selected ones, or remove an Analysis Type from the job. If you click "+ Add Analysis" but there are no Analysis Types to select, all available Analysis Types for this entity are already included in the job.

  7. When you have set up the job, click Start.

The Ad Hoc Monitor Job is executed, and after a few moments it will appear in the Monitor Jobs list. The job is labeled "Ad Hoc."

  8. When the job is finished, click View Results to see the analysis results in detail.

Click each Analysis Type to see the full analysis result details. Read more in [Monitor Job Results].

Analysis Type Parameters

Depending on the Analysis Type, you can adjust parameters such as thresholds, case sensitivity, date ranges, and more.

  • For Case Sensitive: toggle to Active to distinguish between upper and lower case characters. Used for example in Uniqueness Detection and Duplicate Value Rate.
  • For Thresholds: the default threshold for this Analysis Type is used, as set in the Entity Analysis Configuration.
  • For Date Input Type: choose between a Fixed Date, or a relative date, such as the last 5 years, or Today.
  • A Threshold Date is used, for example in Past Date Thresholds, to analyze all values before or after that date or time frame. For example, set a date limit such as 'Older than X years', and enter the number for X.
  • For Minimum Occurrences, enter a minimum number. If a certain value occurs less often than the set number, it will not be displayed in the results. Used for example in Value Distribution.
