Object Configuration

Last published at: May 8th, 2026

View and configure metadata analysis settings for each Object. Enable or disable fields and analysis types, and configure custom analysis settings. These settings will be used when running a Context Job for recording in the Context Library.

For each Object, you can set the fields to analyze (e.g. Annual Revenue, Rating, Ownership, etc.), and the different types of analysis you want to run (e.g. Default Value Usage, Fill Rate, Format Pattern Detection, etc.). A number of analysis types have further parameters that you can set per field or per analysis type, such as thresholds or a date input type.
Each Object that you add comes with default settings that you can then adjust to your needs.

The Object Configurations that you set here will be used when running Context Jobs for data analysis to record in the Context Library

Accessing Object Configuration

  1. In Plauti Context, at top, go to the Context Setup tab.
  2. At left, click Object Configuration.

Adding an Object

  1. In the Object Configuration main window, at top right, click Add Object .
  2. In the pop-up that appears, select the Object you want to add and click Add .

The Object has been added to the list of Objects. This is confirmed by a green confirmation message.
If you don't see the new object right away, it is still being deployed; wait a moment and refresh the page.

  • All Objects, standard or custom, that have ‘Allow Search’ enabled in their Salesforce settings can be added.
  • To remove an Object from the list, click ‘Configure’ at its right. There you'll find the Delete button top right.

Configuring an Object

To configure an Object for metadata analysis, click Configure at its line in the Object Configuration overview.

The Configuration page opens. At top right you'll find the following buttons:

Go Back Return to the Object Configuration overview.
Refresh Metadata Refresh the metadata after you added or removed a field to the Object, or updated field metadata of the Object.
Delete Remove the Object from the Plauti Context Object Configuration. It will be removed from the Context Library as well.

Below, you can configure the Fields and Analysis Types.

Configuring Fields and Analysis Types

In Object Configuration you can configure:

  • Which Fields should be analyzed
  • Which Analysis Types should be used for analyzing

The Fields and Analysis Types tabs both offer this configuration, just from a different standpoint: decide per Field which Analysis Types and settings should be used, or decide per Analysis Type to which Fields it should be applied and with which settings, or whether it should be used at all.
On the Default Settings tab you can configure default Analysis Type settings, that will then be applied to all applicable Fields, unless a custom configuration was set for a certain Field on the Fields or Analysis Types tabs.

Configuring Analysis Types per Field on the Fields tab

On the ‘Fields’ tab, all Fields of the Object are listed, along with their Type, and an indication of how many default and custom Analysis settings each field is using.

To configure Analysis Types for a certain Field:

  1. At the Field, click Configure at right.
The Field Configuration modal opens. For each Analysis Type:
  2. Hover over the Info icon to view what this analysis does.
  3. Toggle Enabled to enable or disable the Analysis Type.
Disabled Analysis Types are not applied to this field when running a Context Job for this Object. This saves storage space as well as job runtime.
  4. Configuration displays the current settings for this analysis; when starting out these are usually the default settings.
Decide if you want to use the current settings or adjust them. Fold open with the ‘Configure’ chevron button to view details and set custom settings (see below).
If instead of a value, a dash is is shown, that particular Analysis Type cannot be configured.
  5. Click Save to save your changes.

Configuring Analysis Types per Field on the Analysis Types tab

On the ‘Analysis Types’ tab, all Analysis Types available to the Object are listed, along with the number of Fields that have this Analysis Type in use, and an indication of how many of those are using default or custom Analysis settings.

To apply and configure an Analysis Type to certain Fields:

  1. At the Analysis Type, click Configure at right.
The Analysis Type Configuration modal opens. The Info box at the top describes what this analysis does.
  2. Scroll through the list or enter a field name in the Search box to find fields.
    At each field:
  3. Toggle Enabled to enable or disable the Analysis Type for this Field.
Disabled Analysis Types are not applied to this field when running a Context Job for this Object. This saves storage space as well as job runtime.
  4. Configuration displays the current settings of the Analysis Type for this Field; when starting out these are usually the default settings.
Decide if you want to use the current settings or adjust them. Fold open with the ‘Configure’ chevron button to view details and set custom settings (see below).
If the Configuration column is not present, the Analysis Type cannot be configured.
  5. Click Save to save your changes.

Configuring Default Settings

On the ‘Default Settings’ tab, the Analysis Type configuration is shown as it is used for all fields that do not have a custom configuration applied.
When an Analysis Type is ticked as ‘Enabled’, it is active for all fields that are using the default settings. For other fields, ‘Enabled’ or ‘Disabled’ is set in their custom settings.

To change the configuration of the default Analysis Type settings for all fields where the default settings are used:

  • Go to the Default Settings tab.
  • At top right, click Configure
  • Toggle Enabled to enable or disable the Analysis Type for all fields that use the default settings.
  • Default displays the current default settings of this Analysis Type.
Fold open with the ‘Configure’ chevron button to view details and adjust the settings (see below).
If instead of a value, a dash is is shown, that particular Analysis Type cannot be configured.
  • After saving, the new default settings are applied to all fields that do not have a custom configuration in use. This might take a few minutes.

To update custom configurations to use the new default settings instead, find all instances of ‘Using Custom Analysis Settings’ on the Fields or Analysis Types tab. Click Configure to update; the custom configurations are labelled “Override” . Fold open and click Use Default to change the custom setting to the default setting.
Keep in mind though that custom settings were changed to their custom values with a reason; check whether it makes sense to use the default settings instead.

Adjusting Configurations

Each Analysis Type comes with default settings based on best practices. Of course each Organization is different, so you might want to have different settings for certain analyses, e.g. different thresholds or case sensitivity.

To change a configuration:

  1. Fold open the details of a configuration with the chevron button in the ‘Configuration’ or ‘Default’ column as described above.
  2. The ‘Field-Level Configuration Override’ or ‘Default Configuration’ view folds open.
Depending on the Analysis Type you can adjust parameters such as thresholds, case-sensitivity, date ranges, etc.
    • For Case Sensitive: toggle to Active to distinguish between upper and lower case characters.
    • For Thresholds: move the threshold indicators to set a lower and upper threshold. The labels and colors indicate which values are considered good or less good.
Use the Switch To button to reverse the threshold interpretation: switch between ‘lower values are considered better’ and ‘higher values are considered better’.
    • For Date Input Type: choose between a Fixed Date, or a Date Literal: a relative date such as the last 5 years (LAST_N_YEARS:5), or TODAY. Date Literal analyses calculate from the date the analysis job was run; the analysis results only update when you run another analysis job.
    • A Threshold Date is used for example to analyze all values before or after that date.
    • For Minimum Occurrences, enter a minimum number. If a certain value occurs less often than the set number, it will not be displayed in the results.
  3. When you have finished configuring an override or default configuration, make sure to click Apply . When you have finished all, click Save.

The new field configuration is being applied. This might take a short while.
