In the Context Library users can review all metadata and analysis data per Object and per Field.
The Context Library is the starting point for analyzing and reviewing your data. It gives you a central overview of all Salesforce objects that have been added to the library, and lets you quickly open objects for deeper inspection.
- Analysis results of Context Jobs for use in the Library are gathered and displayed here.
- Ad Hoc Context Jobs are standalone analysis jobs, and their results are not recorded here in the Context Library.
- Detailed analysis results of a single job (of either type) can be viewed via the Context Job Results.
Open an Object and then one of its Fields to see the Analysis Summary and Field Metadata. Create Field Filters to quickly get an indication of the state of your data across Objects.
Accessing the Context Library
- In the App Launcher, open Plauti Context.
- At top, go to the Context Library tab.
Home
The Context Library opens at its Home page. Here you can see at a glance which Objects are available for analysis, information on the last run analysis job, and the analyzed field types.
| Library Assets | The number of Objects and other Assets that are available for data analysis by Plauti Context. |
| Latest Job | Information about the last run Context Job. Note that this can also be an Ad Hoc job run from the Context Job page, the results of which are not recorded here in the Context Library. |
| Field Types | The distribution of the different field types over the configured fields. These field types correspond with Salesforce's field types. Click on a value in the chart key to temporarily remove it from the pie chart view. |
| Library Index | All Objects and other Assets that are available for data analysis. Open an Object to review its Object and Field metadata and analysis summary. |
Via the menu at left you can access the Quick Find, Field Filters, and the analysis details of each Object.
Quick Find
Use the Quick Find search field top left to quickly find object fields across all Objects by their field label or API name. For example, searching for ‘Email’ returns all object fields with ‘Email’ in their field name in the ‘Asset’ section below.
Field Filters
Once you've ran Context Jobs for your most important Objects, you can create Field Filters to quickly get an indication of the state of your data.
For example, create a Field Filter for Fill Rate is Less Than 10. This will then display all (analyzed) fields in your Org that only have a value filled in for 10% of the records or less. Or create a list view for all Required fields across your Org, or for all contact detail fields with low fill rate, etc.
Applicable fields of all analyzed objects in your Org are then displayed together in one view.
- At left, click Field Filter to access the Field Filter section.
- Select one of the existing Field Filters in List View, or create a new one via New List View
top right. - The filter view opens. Use the buttons top right to tailor the view to your needs:
- Click Select Fields to Display
to change the displayed field details. - Click Filter Fields
in a new List View to set up the filter. Add one or more filter lines, and define their relation by adding filter logic (e.g. 1 AND (2 OR 3)). - Click Filter Fields
in an existing List View to view and edit its filter.
Note that any changes you make affect the List View for all users. - Open the Settings
menu to Rename
or Delete
a List View.
Note that the List View will be renamed or deleted for all users.
- Click Select Fields to Display
If list view columns such ass Fill Rate, Min Characters, etc are empty for a certain Object, it means that Object was not analyzed yet. Have a Plauti Context Administrator run a Context Job via the Context Setup or Context Library page to analyze the Object.
Asset/Object Metadata View
The Library Index and the Assets section in the left-hand menu both lead to the same Object and Field metadata views.
In the Library Index, or in the Assets section at left, open an Object to view its metadata, as well as its field metadata and a summary of its analysis results.
At an Object's page you can view the Field Types distribution chart and Latest Job info again, this time for this Object specifically. Note that again the Latest Job info can also concern an Ad Hoc job run from the Context Job page, the results of which are not recorded here in the Context Library.
Admins can start a job here, to analyze the Object and save the results in the Library.
Below you'll find the ‘Metadata’ and ‘Fields’ sections.
Metadata
The metadata of an Object is displayed here.
Context Admins will see the Go to Object Manager
button, which leads them directly to the Object in Salesforce's Object Manager. After making changes to the Object, such as updating field metadata or adding or deleting a field, make sure to return to Plauti Context and click Refresh Metadata in the Object Configuration.
Fields
The Fields section, and the list of fields in the left-hand menu, show all fields of the Object. Open a field to review its field metadata.
Field Metadata View
In the Fields section of an Object page, or in an Asset's field subsection at left, open a Field to view its metadata and a summary of its analysis results.
Analysis Summary
The Analysis Summary shows the highlights of the analysis results for each analysis type available for this field, as well as the date an analysis was run for this analysis type.
If an Analysis Type in the Analysis Summary is listed under ‘Not Yet Analyzed’, this means no Context Job has run yet that included this Analysis Type. Have a Plauti Context Administrator run a Context Job via the Context Setup or Context Library page to analyze the Object with that Analysis Type.
To view the results of the different Analyses in more detail, go to tab Context Job. On a recent Job, click View Results to review its full results.
Metadata
A field's Metadata section displays the Salesforce metadata of this field, such as its parent Object, its data type, whether it's a required field or not, etc.
When a field does not have a Description entered in its metadata, this is indicated with a warning icon. In the future, you'll be able to run an analysis on a Field's description, to review whether the description matches with the actual content of the Field. Therefore it can be useful to fill in a field description for your most important fields.
Context Admin users can click Go to Object Manager
to fill the field's Description in Salesforce Setup right away. After updating the Description, or any other field metadata, make sure to return to Plauti Context and click Refresh Metadata in the Object Configuration.
