To manage Monitor Library storage, remove old analysis results automatically or manually.
Automatically delete analysis results after a set number of days, or delete results on demand for specific fields, Analysis Types, or date ranges. Analysis results build up in the Monitor Library over time and use storage. The Retention Policy tab in Object Configuration helps you keep that under control.
To delete the analysis results of all Objects in one go, use Purge All Results in the Monitor Settings instead. See General Settings.
Accessing Retention Policy
- Go to Monitor Setup and select Object Configuration.
- Click Configure next to the Object where you want to remove analysis results.
- Open the Retention Policy tab.
Here you'll find the following options:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Status | Whether automatic retention of analysis results is Enabled or Disabled. |
| Retention Days | How long analysis results are kept before they are automatically removed. |
| Manual Purge | Manually remove analysis results for specific fields, Analysis Types, or date ranges. |
Setting the retention period
When automatic retention is enabled, a scheduled cleanup job deletes analysis results that are older than the number of days you set.
- On the Retention Policy tab, click Configure.
- In the Configure Retention Policy window that opens, toggle Status to active.
- At Retention Days, enter the number of days to keep analysis results.
- Click Save.
Analysis results for this Object will now be permanently removed after the number of days you set. This cannot be undone.
Quality Trend Charts
If you are using Scheduled Analyses, make sure to set a retention period that covers several scheduled runs, so you keep sufficient history for meaningful quality trend charts.
Purging results manually
Use a manual purge to delete results before the retention period ends, or when automatic retention is disabled. You can limit the purge to specific fields, Analysis Types, or dates.
- On the Retention Policy tab, at 'Manual Purge', click Purge.
- In the Purge Results window that opens, set the scope of the purge:
| Filter | Description |
|---|---|
| Fields | Choose All Fields, or choose Custom Field Selection to select specific fields. Search for a field by label or API name, and move it from Available Fields to Selected Fields. |
| Analysis Types | Choose All Types, or choose Custom Type Selection to select specific Analysis Types. Search for an Analysis Type by label, and move it from Available Types to Selected Types. |
| Date Range | Choose Before to delete results from before a date, and enter a cut-off date. Choose Between to delete results from a specific period, and enter a From and a To date. |
- Review the warning below the filters. It shows how many results will be permanently deleted.
- Click Confirm Purge.
The selected analysis results will now be permanently deleted. This cannot be undone.
