Getting Started with Plauti Monitor

Plauti Monitor is a Dynamics 365-native data quality solution. It helps you understand and monitor the health of your Dynamics 365 data by running Analysis Jobs across your entities and fields, and storing the results in the Monitor Library.

This article walks you through the steps to get up and running. Each step links to one or more dedicated articles with full details.

1 Access Plauti Monitor

Plauti Monitor is included in the Plauti for Dynamics 365 app, so no separate installation is required.

Find the Plauti Monitor section in the Plauti for Dynamics 365 app, in the left hand menu.

2 Configure Objects

Before running any analysis, tell Plauti Monitor which entities and fields to analyze, and which Analysis Types to apply.

In Monitor Setup > Configured Entities, you can:

  • Configre the entities you want to analyze.
  • On the Analysis Types tab, review and edit the default settings for each Analysis Type.
  • Enable individual fields to analyze them; enabled fields start out with the Analysis Type's default settings, which you can then customize per field.

Each entity comes with sensible defaults, so you can start with minimal configuration and refine later.

3 Run a Monitor Job

Once your entities are configured, run a Monitor Job to analyze your data.

  • Start with an Ad Hoc Job, to see what job results will look like. Results from an Ad Hoc Job are not stored in the Monitor Library, so it's a good way to try out different configurations.
  • Then, when you're happy with the results, run a Library Job for each entity. The results of these are stored in the Monitor Library for further use.

4 Grant Access to Users

After configuring Plauti Monitor and running your first jobs, grant other users access via one of two security roles:

  • Plauti User: read-only access to Plauti Monitor, including the Monitor Library and job results.
  • Plauti Admin: full configuration and Monitor Job access.
