Introduction to Plauti Monitor

Plauti Monitor is a Dynamics 365-native data quality solution that helps you understand, analyze, and monitor the health of your Dynamics 365 data. It runs directly inside your Dataverse environment, using the security roles you already have in place, so there is nothing extra for IT to install or maintain.

Plauti Monitor is the first phase of the Plauti Data Lifecycle: monitor, then clean, then prevent. First, you see what is wrong in your data, then you fix it, and then you keep it from coming back.

With Plauti Monitor, you can currently:

  • Check the health of your data using Analysis Jobs that scan your Dataverse entities and fields for issues such as duplicate values, inconsistent formatting, and fields nearing their character limit.
  • Document your data in a centralized library, the Monitor Library, so admins and data owners always know what lives in their Dynamics 365 data

More features will be added in the near future.

Key Features

Checking Data Health

Run Analysis Jobs across your entities and fields to surface data quality issues. For each job, you choose the entity, the analyses to run, and the specific fields to run them against; then you set your thresholds. Results are shown as green, amber, or red, based on the set thresholds, so you can see at a glance where attention is needed. Thresholds can also be flipped for fields where a low or empty result is actually the healthy outcome, such as bounce reason or error message fields.

Plauti Monitor includes several Analysis types, among them:

  • Duplicate Value Rate: the share of records sharing a value with at least one other record
  • Value Distribution: surfaces issues such as free-text fields that have fragmented into inconsistent variants (for example, USA, US, and United States), which may indicate the field should be a Choice field instead
  • Hidden Choice Value Usage: shows how many records still use a Choice field value that has been hidden: useful to check before deleting that value, since deleting it removes it from every record that had it
  • Field Length Utilization: flags fields where values are approaching the character limit and are at risk of being truncated
  • Future Date, Past Date Threshold, and Date Range: flag dates outside the range you expect, such as birth dates in the future, or records past a retention window

Documenting Your Data

Use the Monitor Library to build a browseable library of every entity you analyze, its fields, and their types, together with data quality context for each of them. Results from your Analysis Jobs attach directly to the relevant field, so the health read sits next to the field's definition.

Why Use Plauti Monitor?

For Proactive Data Management

Catch data quality issues early, before they affect your reports, campaigns, or AI-driven processes.

For AI-Readiness

As Copilot and other agents read from and write to your Dynamics 365 data, the reliability of that data matters more directly than before. Plauti Monitor gives you a stored, field-level and entity-level health score you can point to, instead of relying on a guess.

For Institutional Knowledge

Document field and object context in one place, so that knowledge about your data doesn't live only in people's heads.

Let's Get Started!

Start in Getting Started with Plauti Monitor for the initial setup steps. Then configure your entities for analyzing, and grant access to the right users. Once set up, use Configured or Ad Hoc Monitor Jobs to run your Analysis Jobs and explore the Monitor Library to see your documented data.
