The 6 Best Data Quality Management Solutions for Salesforce in 2023

In the previous product comparison posts we have looked at alternative Salesforce data management solutions from various vendors. While these point solutions might be good for addressing a very specific need within an organization, they are ultimately specialized tools which do not always cover the broader needs an organization might have, especially when it comes to the complexities of data management. In this post we’re going to look at solutions that offer a more complete and comprehensive set of features that make them able to tackle a wide range of data management challenges.

We start off our comparison by taking a look at DataGroomr. DataGroomr has appeared on previous product comparison posts on our blog and they are definitely a solid solution for tackling your Salesforce data management. Let’s take a look at some of their core features.

Datagroomr

Features & benefits

  • Machine learning deduplication — Using their machine learning engine, DataGroomr identifies and eliminate duplicates in your data without having to apply filters or duplication criteria. It can also use it’s neural network to perform data quality analysis. A solution making use of AI is really interesting!
  • See duplicates in real time — The DataGroomr Lightning Component gives you the ability to view duplicates directly in Salesforce. This component can be added to any record page layout.
  • Undo feature — It’s always handy to have an undo button in case you merged some records accidently. Now you won’t have to hand in your resignation letter, simply undo your error immediately or at a later stage from the “Auditr” module.
    NB
Undo can only restore records that are still available in the user recycle bin. Undo cannot restore overwritten fields in the master (surviving records).
  • Verify information — Verify and correct email addresses, phone numbers and mailing addresses.
  • Standardize and normalize data — Apply standardization rules to existing data or directly on import.
  • Eliminate invalid records — Over time records become outdated and invalid. The DataGroomr “Brushr” tool can identify and remove this outdated data in bulk.
  • Prevent duplicates — Eliminate duplicate records upon import so that duplicate data never enters your Salesforce org.

2. Cloudingo

Another well-known solution that’s appeared in our previous posts is Cloudingo. They have a versatile range of features that can offer value when it comes to managing your Salesforce records.

Cloudingo

Features & benefits

  • Real-time prevention — prevent poor data from entering your org at the point of entry.
  • Undo button — Cleansing data can cause anxiety because no matter how meticulous you are, mistakes can and will happen. With Cloudingo you can undo merges and return records to their previous state. When records are restored, so too are the relationships, metadata, lookups and attached objects – something that not every solution offers.
  • Automation — Automate many data cleansing actions to run in the background or outside of work hours. For instance, Cloudingo can be scheduled to perform a deduplication every evening, or once a week. Whatever works best for you.

3. Plauti Data Management (PDM)

PDM is Plauti’s flagship product that unifies all of their point solutions into a powerful suite. PDM offers some heavy lifting features that make for a truly comprehensive data management solution. Let’s take a look at some of the key features of PDM.

  • LDV ready LDV (Large Data Volume) means Plauti is always ready to process thousands -or even millions of records at a moment's notice.
  • Granular user access — Set and assign privileges for data cleansing actions down to the user level. Users can flag records needing a merge, which can later be reviewed and actioned by a Salesforce admin.
  • Verify, validate & standardize — Make sure the data in your Salesforce org is the right data. From phone number, email addresses and mailing addresses, PDM has it covered.
  • Automation abilities — Keep your data tidy by automating your data cleansing routines. This can also be done semi-automatically in batches. For instance, run a deduplicate check every Monday on your leads so that your sales team is ready to go without hesitation.
  • Control — Plauti is the only solution that gives you all three options when choosing how to process a Salesforce job. Choose between your local machine, the Salesforce Native cloud, or use Plauti Cloud for faster processing on larger jobs. This give you flexibility depending on the type data you are working with.

6. Reltio Connected Customer 360

Reltio Connected Customer 360 is a cloud-based master data management (MDM) platform that can be integrated with Salesforce to offer a data management solution for Salesforce. Reltio Customer 360

Features & benefits

  • Data Cleansing and Standardization — Reltio Connected Customer 360 can cleanse and standardize the data stored in Salesforce to ensure data consistency and accuracy. This helps Salesforce users avoid duplicate records and maintain a single source of truth for their data.
  • Real-Time Data Quality — Reltio Connected Customer 360 provides real-time data quality checks to ensure that the data stored in Salesforce is accurate and up to date. *Although the data in your Salesforce org might be connected in real-time, if your Salesforce org is gathering data from a number of sources, changes to that data might not be reflected in real-time, opening a window for data errors.
  • Match and Merge — Reltio Connected Customer 360 can match and link records from different systems to create a unified view of customer data. This helps Salesforce users to avoid data redundancy and ensure data consistency across different systems.
  • Find & monitor duplicate records— While Reltio can help identify and monitor duplicates in Salesforce, it does not have the ability to directly fix duplicates in Salesforce itself.

We hope this comparison has helped you learn a bit more about some of the data management suites for Salesforce and some of the differences between them. The solutions discussed today are among the top solutions in search results and well-known names, but it doesn’t mean there aren’t others out there.

It’s important to point out that although some vendors offer a range of point solutions, simply stacking a bunch of point solutions doesn’t always make it a suite product. In fact, it hardly ever does. A true suite product typically includes multiple programs or applications that are integrated and designed to work seamlessly with each other from the ground up, often sharing data and functionality.

Another challenge that might arise with non-native Salesforce solutions is that implementation may require some additional technical work to get them functional. That may involve additional costs and time from your end which is something to think about when looking at your options. Also, although some solutions market themselves as a true “Customer 360” product, if the solution relies on collecting data from multiple sources there is always a chance that errors can occur in the windows between data aggregation. For a true customer 360 view, having a single repository and source for data is a lot more reliable.

Plauti PDM is a true suite platform that has been designed with Salesforce integration in mind from day one. This means easier integration into your Salesforce org and seamless functionality between the apps. For instance, Plauti Duplicate Check can be integrated with Record Validation. This allows you to validate your records while at the same time checking whether the new record you're creating already exists in Salesforce. Two disconnected point solutions wouldn’t be able to do this -at least not without extra hassle.
