How to measure successSuccess is not about running every analysis
It is about gaining clarity on your most critical data and knowing where to focus your efforts.
How to measure success
Success is not about running every analysis. It is about gaining clarity on your most critical data and knowing where to focus your efforts.
Recommended approach and success criteria
- Scope small: Pick 2-3 business-critical objects (e.g., Account, Contact, Opportunity) and 20-30 high-impact fields per object, favor fields in key reports, integrations, or AI models.
- Define success up front: Agree with your team what good looks like for your most critical fields. For example, a minimum fill rate or a data range.
- Involve the right people: Include a Salesforce Admin, a Business Owner, or a Data or Analytics Lead so results are reviewed in the right business context.
2. Initial setup & configuration
Before starting your analysis jobs, do the following:
- Permissions: Ensure the Plauti Context permission set is assigned to all pilot users. There are two rules: Admin (full configuration access) and End-User (view results only).
- Add objects: To analyze objects, go to Context Setup > Object Configuration > Add Object.
- Select your scope: In Context Setup, create a configuration for each of your objects and select the fields you want to analyze.
- Choose your analyses: Use the Fields or Analysis Types tabs to enable the analyses relevant to your business. There is no right or wrong choice; your selections help us understand which analyses resonate most.
- Configure settings: Thresholds can be set at three levels: Default Settings (applies to all fields), Analysis Types (per field for a specific analysis), and Fields (per analysis for a specific field). The latter two override the Default Setting.
- Refresh Metadata: When a new field is created, or when you update a field setting, such as making a field required, click Refresh Metadata to fetch this new information.
3. How to run analysis jobs
Once your configuration is set up in Context Setup, you are ready to run your first analysis job.
Option 1: Configured Jobs
- Navigate to the Context Setup tab and click Start Job.
- Or navigate to the Context Library tab, select the object, and click Start Job.
- Click Start Job once more in the confirmation modal to run the analysis. This will run all analyses for all fields as configured in Context Setup for the given object.
- After completion, you can see a summary of all analyses that ran, how many fields were analyzed, and a high-level result per analysis type. These results are saved and visible in the Context Library and Context Job page.
- In a future release, you will be able to schedule jobs on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, and track results over time to spot trends.
Option 2: Ad Hoc Jobs
- Navigate to the Context Jobs tab and click Create Job.
- Give your job a name and select the object you want to analyze.
- Click Load Library Analyses to automatically load the fields and analyses you configured in Context Setup for the selected object, or click Add Analysis to run a small set of analyses for selected fields specifically.
- Click Start Job to run the analysis.
- Once complete, you can see a summary of all analyses that run, how many fields were analyzed, and a high-level result per analysis type. These results are not saved; they serve as a point-in-time snapshot of your data.
Remark 1: Job completion time
Job completion time varies based on the number of records, fields, and analyses configured.
Remark 2: Heavy analysis types
Value Distribution, Format Pattern Detection, and Email Domain Analysis may hit Salesforce governor limits. Select only a few key fields when running these analyses.
How to view the results
The results of the analysis jobs are visible in two places.
View 1 - Context Job
- Context Job, click View Results to see results per analysis type for a specific job run. Useful for reviewing what a job produced and spotting issues immediately.
- Most analyses display a graph and a table. Selecting or deselecting a field in the table updates the graph in real time.
- Some table columns display colored badges based on thresholds configured in Context Setup. For Configured Jobs, these thresholds are set at the field or analysis type level. For Ad Hoc Jobs, the Default Settings thresholds apply.
View 2 - Context Library
- Context Library, view Analysis Summary for a specific field in one place. Useful for understanding the overall health of a field across all analyses.
- In a future release, Analysis Summary cards will include a trend indicator, and a dedicated page will allow you to track results over time per analysis type.
Context Library
The Context Library is organized into three levels.
- Home: an overview of all configured objects, the latest job status, and a breakdown of field types across your org.
- Object page: metadata, field list, and latest job summary. Click Open on any field to drill into its analysis results.
- Field page: an Analysis Summary showing a card per configured analysis with the latest result.
- Field filter: create custom list views to see a specific set of fields across all objects in one place. For example, create a list view for phone fields to review fill rate, format pattern, and duplicate value rate side by side.
